FAQ

Q: What is the Dag Hammarskjöld Youth Leader Training (DHY)?

A: The purpose of the Dag Hammarskjöld Youth Leader Training (DHY) is to honour the memory of Dag Hammarskjöld, by gathering young leaders between the ages of 18 and 30 from across the globe. They will spend 7 days in Uppsala (October 2nd – 8th, 2016) learning from each other, as well as from guest speakers and guides, in an intense and interactive training programme, which shall focus on challenges the participants have met during their work in their home countries. Based on the information and discussions from the training, two academic products will be produced and later published for public use.

Three important things to think about before your arrival:

Before arriving in Uppsala there are a few things we would like to remember you to have:

  • The DHY does not cover any unexpected events that might happen whilst staying here, hence you need a valid insurance.

More information about the European Health Insurance Card can be found at http://ec.europa.eu/social/main.jsp?catId=559 Note that the card is not an alternative to travel insurance.

Visa

  • Remember to apply for a visa well in advance, different countries have different office turnaround times.
